Ohio Senate Candidate Kathy Wyenandt is ready to tackle healthcare, education, economy and jobs
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) has endorsed Kathy Wyenandt, a Democrat running for state senator in Ohio Senate District 4, which consists of most of Butler County.
“Kathy Wyenandt is a leader who will fight for high-quality public education, affordable health care, and economic opportunity for Ohio’s fourth senate district,” said Brown. “Kathy’s experience as a business owner, community advocate, Southwest Ohio Regional Transit trustee, and former Butler County Board of Elections official demonstrates that she understands that the ‘Dignity of Work’ is not just a slogan, it’s how we govern — that’s why I’m proud to endorse Kathy.”
Wyenandt of Liberty Township was born in Cincinnati, grew up in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and moved back to Ohio in 1989, where she graduated from Fairfield High School. She graduated from Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science.
She is an advocate for public schools and in 2018, ran a competitive race for the state house in Ohio’s 52nd district. She was one of the top 10 fundraisers in the Democratic field and grew the Democratic vote share by almost 17 points.
“I’m honored to receive this endorsement from a national leader who has spent his entire career working for the people of the state of Ohio,” said Wyenandt. “Sherrod is the kind of public servant I hope to be; he puts his values over party fealty and finds ways to bring people together. He puts people over politics.”
