What does a State Senator Do?

A state senator has the responsibility of listening to the concerns of the people in their district and working to solve their problems. A state senator can help connect families and communities in their district with the resources they need. State senators can use legislative action (passing bills) to improve the lives of people they represent. The laws they pass affect the daily lives of Ohioans in many ways – property taxes, education funding, health care, jobs and job training, the safety of our communities – just to name a few. The important thing is that a state senator acts as the voice in Columbus of the people they represent.

Do I live in the 4th State Senate district?

Ohio’s 4th State Senate district covers almost all of Butler County with just a few precincts in Middletown belonging to the 7th district. This district is comprised of Ohio House districts 51, 52 and 53 stretching from Middletown to Oxford, Ross to West Chester.
